The only unselected show in the UK giving an opportunity to see the work of the well established alongside the up-and-coming. Around 170 potters will be taking part in this, the oldest potters’ market in the UK. The result is an exciting mix of the sophisticated and the raw power of the next generation.

No art hype, no gallery glitz, just potters and public enjoying each other’s company in a down to earth setting. The event is held under permanent cover at Skirsgill Auction Mart, Penrith – 100 yds west of junction 40 off the M6, on the edge of Britain’s beautiful Lake District.  (Postcode for Sat Navs – CA11 0DN).

The interaction between potters and public is an important part of the show. As well as some demonstrations, there will be free hour-long classes for adults to encourage them to take their first steps in clay. Get inspired, get involved and be prepared for visual overload.
Throwing classes, kids ‘n clay corner, pottery tools, clay suppliers, kilns, and thousands of pots to choose from. The theme for this year’s competition  held in the foyer area of the show is “Avian Architecture”.
